Steelhead trout portion – 8 oz. frozen portion, skin on land-based, farmed from Lois Lake, British Columbia.
Steelhead trout’s scientific name is Oncorhynchus mykiss. Oncorhynchus is Greek meaning “hooked snout”. Because these black-spotted fish are anadromous, meaning they migrate from salt water to spawn in fresh water, they can be cultured in either salt or fresh water. Lois Lake Steelhead is farmed in the deep, cold, clean waters of Lois Lake, British Columbia, and raised on sustainable feed, without antibiotics.
